MC 707 / 101 : New Roland Grooveboxes

Ah yeah that would be great.

Anyone uses 707 & OT? To this seems a pretty solid Match!

atm minimal set, I’m preparing an after corona techno mayhem for my friends.
lfo, cc, note plocks ot->707
ot out -> 707 ext in for long stems

I plan to route a track from 707 into a thru machine from ot, and send via cue back into 707 for comb - fader -filter.
midi cc 80, 81, 82 is that what you put assing with knob assign on the 707.

But scatter fx ony works with things entered into the sequencer of 707. Thats a bummer.
You can sequence on ot, use cue functionality on 707 to preliste with headphones.
You can make every clip on 707 as own instrument. so you can use one sequence on ot, but different sound on 707.

2 metal suitcases, one small backpack for cables & headphones. pretty smol.

I use a 101 with my OT. Pretty good intégration. Saves a lot of ressources on the OT.

What do you mean by that ? Scatter FX is an audio effect so it affects any audio that goes out of the 707 (even the metronome)

Graphics for envelopes would be dope.

I just sequenced from octatrack, and pushed thos scatter buttons, nothing happended.
Maybe I should try again?

Roland Video Manuals for the 707 were uploaded recently.

I tried earlier and even if you don’t sequence anything, the scatter FX only works while the MC-707 sequencer is playing.

So just press play on the on the MC-707 and try again. It also means you can sync the scatter to the OT clock.

707 users,

On a drum track, I do not see that there is a way to copy or move the instruments from pad to pad. Any work around suggestions? Am I just overlooking it and should RTFM?

Does anybody knows if the USB of the MC-707 is class compliant? I ask this because I want to connect it directly to my iPad and hoping to see 8 audio channels in AUM.

And what is the content of the factory delivered SD-card? Just projects? Or a sample library too?

no class compliant.

the sd card contain some projects. 4-5.
the projects contain some samples but not too many.

Disappointing, so no direct connection to the iPad.

Thanks for your reply!

If you save the project, you can load it via inst select. It’ll be in that project’s folder of course!

How are people liking the 101? I thought these videos of it in action were quite good. And gear lust is helping to keep me going in this crazy, messed up world.

well, it is at least partially class compliant, since i can plug it into my Linux laptop and get the master stereo output via USB.
don’t know what’s the issue with iPads though. someone on Gearslutz reported the same problem with iPad too.

Than Linux looks like having a generic built-in driver for it. IOS doesn’t.
