MegaCommand // MCL 4.43

Not sure, maybe jump on the discord. Sounds like a MIDI connection problem?

Hi there !

Is there a possibility to play the GND poly machine by inputing 4 notes on the same track ? Or via an external keyboard ?

You can only enter notes for PTC1 via external keyboard.

Also, keep in mind, the tuning of PTC[2-4] is relative to PTC1

Ok ! Thank you Justin. I really like the Megacommand.

I will have an other question :
Can I use an external keyboard and apply the Arpeggiator + scale on the notes ?
Can I do while receiving the clock and transport ?

Do my master keyboard (which is an OT) should have the two ports in and out connected to the Megacommand ?

Thanks in advance.

Yes.

Only MIDI input is needed for External MIDI Keyboard.

Okay thank you.

One last thing : Can I record the same knob manipulation over the concerned Poly-selected tracks ?
Exemple : record decay automation on my poly tracks from one track …

Also : If I transpose with the arrows the first of the poly tracks, will all the received notes will be transposed or should I transpose all tracks ?

Yes. Parameters across poly tracks are “Linked”

Transpose is applied upon recording. You can’t retranspose without re-recording or manual edit.

Ok, so I have a problem here : If I try to record automations but the RECORDED automations are only applying to one track…

I see it on the screen : only one parameter has his knob moving : and with filter or vol settings I can clearly hear that automations are only applied to a track, same with different machines I can clearly hear it.

When I do not record those automations I can hear they are affecting all poly tracks (just turning the knobs with no recording) but If I want to record those automation, turning a knobn while recording, the automation only apply to one track.

Did you have any idea about why it could act like that ?

Just checked the code. It looks like I haven’t implemented polyphonic parameter record yet. So that would be why :slightly_smiling_face:

I get weird bug when in Enhanced mode, when I play a pattern it also play the internal sequence it was before switching to the mega command (which is not editable then) and the only around is to select an empty pattern while in classic or Extend mode before switching to Enhanced. I just upgraded to 4.11 and X.06.

Also I was wondering if it’s planned (in long run) to have a song mode, since the grid mode looks like a lot like a tracker ?

I think it’s supposed to work that way.

I haven’t upgraded yet, but it was possible to switch back to classic/extended by pressing the button until you’re on either of them (only one light lit up) and delete the trigs. You need to turn record back on each time to see the trigs I think.

Then press the button until both classic & extended mode LEDs are lit, so you’re back in enhanced.

Thank you !
So What should I use to automate all my poly-tracks ?

Midi CC ?
Will a CC be reported on other poly tracks

best practise is to make sure the MD is on a blank pattern in extended/classic mode when using MCL enhanced mode.

could use an external midi translator for now.

Bug: If you manipulate the parameters on the Master FX pages, anything slaved to MD’s clock goes out of sync.

It would be because the Master FX parameters now transmit their respective SYSEX message.

And the attached MIDI device cannot properly handle the SYSEX message stream.

What have you got slaved? Also wrong forum topic if this is MDX specific.

Right, I actually meant to post that on MDX… Apologies

I’ve got everything running through a MOTU MIDI interface, and not currently using the MCL. A4 and M:C

I’ll try filtering sysex from the md to the slave devices. Just realized that that is the natural solution
