Any users in here? Seriously considering picking one up. It doesn’t really make any sense cos I’ve always hated the idea of using a laptop at shows. Guess the brainwashing has worked tho as surface pro/ableton/push 2 has been playing on my mind lately…
The fact that I’d have ableton/sonar/reason (+ softsynths/kontakt etc) to hand 24 hrs a day seems like a no-brainer… Since I had my 3rd daughter I got an iPad and took it way more seriously as it’s the thing I’m most often able to find time/space to pick up and use.
All those snatched half hour sound design sessions have been paying off when I’ve had time to bring them in to proper sessions in daw or octatrack. The thought of being able to do the same thing but with ableton and sonar and some of the better soft synths etc (+possibly use it with push for shows) seems like maybe the most productive option I have right now. Be interested to hear user feedback on inspiration/stability etc with production/sound design on Surface Pro tablets…
