Hi I’m trying to use my polyend tracker as a master clock I have a midi cable going from the PT into the midi in if my AR mk1. On the tracker side clock in is internal and clock out and transport are send through the midi out jack.
How do I set up the AR for this? Im looking through the manual now trying to figure it out but can’t. Help please!
Connect the MIDI Out port of the Tracker to the MIDI In port of the AR MkI. Make sure that you use the correct MIDI adaptor for the Tracker - if you use a different one then MIDI Out will not work.
In the AR MkI’s GLOBAL > MIDI CONFIG > MIDI SYNC menu:
activate CLOCK RECEIVE and
activate TRANSPORT RECEIVE.
In the AR MkI’s GLOBAL > MIDI CONFIG > MIDI PORT CONFIG menu, set INPUT FROM to “MIDI”.
That’s the settings I’m using and it won’t work… it must be the AR I bought it used I’ve used the tracker with other stuff before. Is there anything that I might be over looking on the pattern mode and main page perhaps?
I’m gonna try it tomorrow using the USB method hope that works
Hmmmm. At first I was trying to use the polyend tracker clock and transport send that to the analog Rtym via midi cable but the tracker was producing an inconsistent BPM for some reason. Tried it the other way round sending the clock and transport out to the polyend and it’s worked great. As far as midi configuration goes the SYNC controls were set correctly in both instances and it would not work. I opened up the menu below sync(not sure what it’s called I’m not at home) and changed that setting that apparently has nothing to do with this and it started working…
I most be missing something or didn’t have it set up properly in the sync menu at first Ive had it for less than a week and have been obsessed with it I was probably tired after long sessions.
I current have the polyend tracker and Analog Rtym running clock via usb from Ableton Live 10.
I’m interested now I’m gonna check the settings and see if I can get it not to work with it on auto when I get home will post.
