MIDI in to Digitone

I have been able to trigger the synth via MIDI but not the sequencer. My Digitone settings are basically right out of the box but I would like to trigger its sequencer with NI Maschine. Has anyone tried this?

Is this impossible?

From the manual: AUTO CHANNEL selects the MIDI channel that gives access to the currently active track. If an external MIDI keyboard connected to Digitone sends MIDI data on this channel, the keyboard controls the
active track. This function is useful when you want to change quickly between the active synth tracks
to play different sounds. The Digitone also uses the AUTO channel to record to the MIDI tracks from
external MIDI controllers.
But when I use auto channel, it cuts the track completely!

What exactly does “trigger the sequencer” mean?

I’ve been able to trigger the synth using MIDI, but when I try to record the notes using live recording mode I can’t sync up the sequencers.

I use Push 2 and play and rec all midi, so i think we can use VST work in Sequencer.

Mean use vst and use sequencer on Digitone. Digitone have midi in and out.

You should be able to enter live recording mode (rec+play) and enter in notes. Make sure quantized recording is on not off. The quick shortcut to switch modes is to hold record while hitting play just like engaging live record mode you’ll see the banner at the top say either quantized live record or unquantized live record

Thanks. It seems like even if I match up the sequencers with a preroll bar they don’t sync up, though. The notes get entered but strangely they are silent, too.
