Hi. I’m trying to send midi from Ableton into the DN out to a Microwave XT (which doesn’t do USB midi). The DN is receiving Ableton’s midi output over usb and that works fine. I have a midi cable going from the DN midi through to the XT midi in. The Ableton midi isn’t being received by the XT. If I play the Linnstrument and send midi via a midi cable to the DN’s input then the XT does receive that midi. Is there a way to set this up for Ableton? Thanks for reading.
I think that the MIDI thru port only passes on what is arriving at the DIN MIDI socket i’m afraid
(because it’s a little fairly passive circuit from the pins in on the DIN plug rather than some complicated merger of all MIDI messages)
I’m assuming you’re sending USB midi from ableton to the DN?
the only way to do this is to send the MIDI out from Ableton over DIN MIDI from a MIDI interface of some kind. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!
