MIDI via Overbridge to external gear

Hey,

I hope, that you are all well. I would like to send MIDI from my DAW (Ableton) via Overbridge to sequence an external synthesizer. The synthesizer is connected via its MIDI IN to the MIDI OUT (I also tried the MIDI THRU) of my Digitone, which is plugged in via USB into my computer. It won’t work unfortunately. Am I missing something?

Is your Digitone in Overbridge Mode? What Synth? Does it have a Sequencer or you’re sequencing it with the Digitone? Is Digitone connected via USB to your computer?

The MIDI THRU on the Digitone only passes through messages from the MIDI IN, not from the USB MIDI.
The MIDI OUT doesn’t pass through anything, it only sends messages from the Digitone itself.

While the Digitone can be used as a USB Audio interface, it can not be used as a USB MIDI interface.

If the synthesizer you want to connect doesn’t have USB, get yourself a simple USB MIDI interface. They also come in the form of a simple USB cable with 2 MIDI DIN plugs.
