Model:Cycles only music

Sure!
I’ll take track 5 as an example (it’s a kick machine) I have a very fast kfo on the pitch along with distortion and reverb (long tail reverb).
I send it to the max level to the delay and set the delay to 1 (very short) with the max amount of feedback before it self oscillates.
Then I play with the pitch and delay time to mess it up.
In the beginning I also being the contour up so that it drones less and less and we can hear the hit with a long tail.

Nice possibilities would also be to modulate the delay send with the lfo!

Thank you! I talked about the T5 in my other answer

Thanks! I will give it a try.

Stimmings video about the model cycles inspired me to this piece of music. He is one of the few electric artists, that I take my hat off to. It is one thing that he creates wonderful soundworlds. The other thing is his way to explain the connection from tech to music, which I find both informative and humorous. Like this review. Of course I added some saxophone and clarinet to the groovebox.
Hope you enjoy!

Wonderful one! Great to hear M:C in such kind of stuff. Respect.

That was much fun, thanks. It made me want to… take up a reed instrument.

Wow, so nice! Different yet recognisable as M:C. Clever use of the Chord machine!

Thank you for the compliments. Just to warn you: the learning curve might be a little bit longer than with a m:c. And if you don’t practice for some weeks, speed, tuning and sound can suffer

I have attempted to get sounds out of saxophones and clarinets before, so I know a bit about the learning curve (at least the very beginning of it). It’s too bad that much of the nuance is lost when one is sampled…

Thank you. Honestly, in the middle section where the chords are displayd, I didn’t use the chord function  I guess, it would have been possible, but calculating and parameter locking the transposition, inversion and chord type took so long, that I decided to play each chord tone as single voice with the same oscillator setting. For the other parts I used the chord function though.

This was really excellent! Feel like you put some proper work into that and it comes across like you enjoyed making it loads, and very ‘unshowy’? Just feels like it exists purely for the enjoyment of making some cool art

Hi new here but has anyone connected model:cycles to TouchDesigner before, because for some reason when I connect it I get no channels or activity in my output?. I’ve followed this tutorial to help me but failed to get it working any ideas?.

Thanks a lot. i am glad to hear that. And yes, that required some work
