weird - the knobs on my unit are so solid. Zero wiggle and a pretty heavy tightness in the turn. Best encoders on any piece of hardware I’ve ever owned so I guess it must vary quite a lot from unit to unit… I presume they will loosen up nicely. I remember the knobs on my MM were pretty tight at first and now they’re perfect… The level knob on my A4 mk1 is starting to move horizontally - soon it’ll be a slider.
How are you liking the M:C now you have it though? - looking forward to hearing what you make with it!
just starting working with it in a tune, alongside a bunch of other stuff (music easel, polysix, juno 106, perfourmer, 707 samples, drumatix, etc…). sits in a mix very well, holds its own, and is WAY more than a toy
Now I just want the Polyend Tracker, and my setup will be able to make mods, YMs, and whatever I feel like really.
I nearly sold my Digitone Keys, but then I came to my senses. It’s kind of a cold-dead-hands-synth for me. I like making YM-style chip tunes, which the M:C seems to exude, but I couldn’t give up the complex textures of the DNK…
I decoded the kit / pattern sysex this week and will have an iOS app available soonish, like my one for the Rytm…I’ve been feeding it Euclidean Rhythms all night
It is possible to record the audio from the USB input when filning on the phone as Well. But i usually use a dslr for That and then combins the audio and video
