In my experience you aways need to keep them separate…but I have only worked with fairly low end gear <£1k.
I use shotcut for editing videos it’s free and works well. I use it for my work where I manually sync voice to film.
Yes, one done it on my iPhone, and it works seamlessly.
@MichaalHell I tried, but somehow the video app does not pick up the sound over USB. I tried with the iPhone camera extension as well, but no luck so far.
@CompNutation Shortcut, I’ll look into that. Thanks for the tip!
@cold_fashioned Any particular app you would recommend to record audio (over USB) and video on your phone?
Try using the iOS camera app. I know it works there. Could be that the app you’re using haven’t programmed in to take audio via usb
with the app filmic pro recording video and usb audio at the same time into the video works (on iphone), maybe also try that. (no free app, but very good video settings too)
Got one from Andertons arriving Monday
Thanks. It says they’re on preorder and not in stock until the end of the month so perhaps you got in there early! Same everywhere else, no stock.
Yes, but i ordered on Thursday expecting delivery after 31st but it got shipped yesterday so may be worth emailing them.
I was also looking for an easy way and got a Roland Go:Mixer Pro. It does let me record video and audio simultaneously. The documentation though is not very good.
Is it possible to have retriggers fade in? Been trying to work this out with no luck.
I would love that too and mentioned it in another thread…
There doesn’t seem to be a way to plock the velocity +/- pressure you apply to a track pad on retrigger. Only works as a live playable function. Or I guess you painstakingly slow everything down and manually add increments in velocity.
I’ve actually just thought it should be possible to plock the retrig and then plock the Vol-Dist parameter on top of that to get fade in and out… Bit of a pain in the ass but it should be a workaround.
EDIT : scrap that - doesn’t work because the retrig applies to one note on one step … doh!
Dang! Thought so. I also had the idea of slowing it down and upping the velocity. Hopefully this can be added in a firmware update.
At least for now I can do it on my digitakt!
This machine delivers some powerful beats! I’m exited to see if it can actually replace the Analog Rytm in my setup. I find the AR too big (MK2, along with the other machines) and prefer to synthesise beats instead of using samples and the AR’s synth engine is not that interesting I think.
I know they are very different machines but owners of both machines, what do you think?
I’m not in front of it right now, but I’m sure I got this to work by setting the note velocity to 0, and then using the fade parameter on the retrig page. Can’t remember if it needs to be positive or negative, but give it a try
Unless I’m tripping there’s a fade-in value on the regtrig page w/ negative amounts = fades in & w/ positive amounts = fades out.
mm … Don’t see a fade value via Func | Retrig - on the retrig page.
Mistaken with the LFO Settings
Check the trig repeat menu 9.7 page 27, hold down a trig on the timeline then press retrig.
classic case of RTFM on my part - just found it >
9.7 TRIG REPEAT MENU
The TRIG REPEAT menu is very similar to the RETRIG SETUP menu. The difference is that this menu is used when you want to set up retrig for a specific trig. In GRID RECORDING mode, press and hold one or several [TRIG] keys and then press [RETRIG] to access the TRIG REPEAT menu. Use LEVEL/DATA to change the settings. For more information, please see “9.6 RETRIG SETUP MENU” on page 27.
ON/OFF Toggles the retrig function ON/OFF for the chosen trig.RTE Same as for RETRIG SETUP menu.
LEN Same as for RETRIG SETUP menu.
FAD Sets the velocity curve fade out/fade in of the retrig (-128–127). -128 corresponds to a complete fade out during the set length, -64 fades out to half the velocity during the set length, 0 equals a flat velocity curve with no fade, 64 fades into half velocity during the set length, and 127 fades in completely to full velocity during the set length.
I swear I tried to set it up this way earlier and it didn’t work! Haha, well I must have must have messed it up, but glad I’ve figured it out now.
