Model:Samples Feature Requests Thread

oh! I missed the merge function on DT and DN, I now miss it on MC, but never exactly realised, what I miss! Thanks for pointing it out!

I wish Model:Samples handled sample browsing the way M:C handles sound browsing. M:C doesn’t take you to the original loaded sound location.

M:S forces you to the original location, then you back out of that to find a new sample. Buzz killer.

+1 Just been perusing the M:S manual as I don’t have one yet, but noticed velocity parameter mapping not implemented, the space in the display is there so hopefully it is planned.

It’s been mentioned a few times, but for the sake of bumping the idea again in the hope Elektron takes notice…Transmit midi CC automation to midi out please.

I have both the M:S and the M:C paired with an ipad and it makes a really powerful small setup with three of the M:S tracks sequencing IOS synths, and AUM mixing everything together with compression and effects. The parameter knobs on the M:S easily map to parameters on the IOS synths, but can only be twisted live, the sequencer locks and live recorded automation are not transmitted over midi.

Really gutted about this to be honest and wasn’t expecting such a peculiar omission. I hope it’s not one of those product line feature decisions that won’t receive an update.

  • Please add negative swing amounts (bipolar swing)
  • Please add option for loop crossfade
  • Please make a port of Elektron Transfer for iOS & Android

EDIT: Removed fulfilled requests :nyan:

It’s not unique to the product line. Analog Rytm and Analog Four have the same limitation.

This omission exists on the Elektron products that do not have dedicated MIDI sequencer tracks.
OT/DN/DT have dedicated MIDI sequencer tracks, and on those boxes you can send CC# automation (LFOs, p-locks) from the dedicated MIDI sequencer tracks.

Yes this is true, I was just hoping for maybe a simple check box within the track menu that released the data rather than a fully featured midi track and associated settings. I can see why they didn’t as no one wants a whole load of midi cc that you cant define spewing out, but if it was an option it would really work well with easy midi learn IOS and DAW software. The market they are aiming for with these models fit quite well with the whole IOS Jakob Haq small cheap portable device scene as well, I think it would be a great move.

It is pretty clear to me this box isnt it, there is no way to even transfer samples in with an iPad… might be why Mr Haq uses an MC-101 instead.

Yeah maybe not. I’m just so into the one knob per function thing right now that I wan’t to interface with everything like that!

I would like to see fine tune control over parameters. Maybe by hold FUNC & turning a parameter that doesnt have a secondary function could access a fine control over values.

Also, you have to add a way to clear all parameter locks for tracks/globally. Its really starting to bother me

Game screen

I would never buy a sampler that can not sample, but maybe it is just I am too old.

Edit: I do not know why this message was moved here, M:S has no audio inputs…

+1 This be my ask too.

Now that we have fine pitch, it will be dope if we have fine start & end point

-Let us have multiple destinations for the LFO! At least 2 would be nice.

-Add a velocity randomiser/humaniser for triggers

This is something that would work well together with the chance parameter. This could quickly add velocity variations for live sets.

-Add Track volume to LFO destinations. Not sure why this is not included yet. This is very handy to emulate side chaining FX.

you can LFO the level/dist, in the meantime.

I quite like allowing it to get into the dist just a little, and tweaking it to go in or out of the dist.
2 destinations in 1!

have fun!

Of course haha, how could I be so stupid. The Distortion is basically level control which is what I was looking for. Thanks! @AdamJay

Not stupid at all, the Destination is “DIST”.
Easy mistake.

Lots of things super simple and obvious on this thing, but only once you know about them.
Like just holding down the LFO button and turning the DIST knob to make the assignment plus depth… wildly simple. Powerful too.

It’s a new paradigm for Elektron in a lot of ways. Makes me hopeful for future products.
Enjoy!

This might be a request for the Transfer app, but it would be nice to edit the labels on your uploaded samples once they are on the M:S. If this is something that’s already possible, help would be appreciated. Hope everyone is doing well & staying safe <3

I would like to reiterate this. This would put M:S in a league of its own for the price, all without impeding on all the extra functions OB offers. I rarely used all the OB features of my DT aside from separate recordings.
