Multiple drum sounds on same trig on Digitone

Hey, still new to the Digitone. Read through the manual and have been trying myself but I can’t seem to figure out if I can have 2 drum sounds play at the same time on the same track. For example, say a snare with the kick on the 2 and 4

Well you “can” but they’ll choke out normally.

You might be able to by Setting your voice allocation to dynamic or at least to 2.
set the kick on beat 1,2,3,4 as normal.
Place a trig on the 16th after beat 2 and 4 and sound lock it to the snare patch you want to use. micro time them left as far as they’ll go. {Trig + Left key}.

Now, on the Trig page hold down the trigs for kick 2 and 4. and adjust the length to be longer than an 1/8th note. this will tell the DN that you’re sustaining the kick and want to use another voice of polyphony for the snare possibly. I’ve not tried this myself but I think it could work.

Actually got my DN out and yeah it doesn’t work. :frowning:

The trigs need to be set to a different pitch

Ah ha!

How do I assign sounds to different trigs on a track?

Look up Sound Locks and Sound Pool in the manual. The sound pool exists specifically for this reason.

Thanks!

Can you explain more? I can program beats in a track with different sounds but as for having 2 sounds play at the same time, I can’t make heads or tails of where I can assign separate sounds to different notes

On the TRIG page, change the note assigned to the trig.

If you want both notes to be the same, you’ll need to save your sound at a higher or lower octave to the other sound, and then use the corresponding octave shift on your trig (e.g. shift octave down in the sound setup menu, then use the same note +1 octave on the TRIG page).

edit: oh wait yeah I did a tutorial on this :stuck_out_tongue:
