Music shops in amsterdam

So I’m in Amsterdam for a couple of days and would like to check if there is an interesting music store with some synths or whatnot. Any suggestions?

I seem to recall there’s one very near the Dampkring. And another a fair walk to the west of the city. I’ve never been unstoned there though. Therefore I could take you but wouldn’t have a chance of directing you, sorry…

Thanks! All I need are some vague directions, I do plan on some stoned exploration

You have dijkman or something… which is near muntplein / pathe cinema . (thats in the centre of amsterdam)
and you got midisomething… which is near the end of the overtoom (long walk from leidseplein)
if you walk the street behind the palace… and walk a long way away from the palace (with the palace in your back) first you find a guitarstore… then you find another musicstore… forgot name)
and there is / was (not sure) a fancy piano store on 't spuiplein …

so yeah, there are music-stores

I’ll be honest, Amsterdam does not have the best music stores. In fact compared to other European cities, it’s pretty awful. Midi Amsterdam is probably the best but that’s not saying much.

Midi Amsterdam - my personal fave as they stock Elektron. You will go past OT301 on the way which is a quirky ex-squat turned club/bar. The most interesting stuff can happen there. The Kashmir lounge is also nearby which is a decent coffeeshop that also sells booze (most don’t)

This place is the guitar store with electronic store next door. Features the grumpiest man in Amsterdam.

I wouldn’t even bother with Dirk Witte, but it’s so central it’s easy enough to swing by. If you’re a little fuzzy headed, pop into the Tuschinski around the corner to watch a film (insane decor… even just pop in to see the lobby)

Wow, thanks! Didn’t expect such a detailed answer! I start the tour now!
:sunny:

There is also a Bax shop in Adam. I have not been there… but it might be cool.

One of my fav places for myself but also for tourists is de papegaai, a big church at the Kalverstraat that almost no one sees and knows. Especially on saturday (i think opened till 2 Pm) it gives this Harry Potter feeling.

And ot301 is my fav club and restaurant.

Oh wow, I didn’t realise Bax had opened a brick and mortar. I loved Bax (online) when I lived there… same day delivery was very dangerous.

I would definitely recommend going there:
