My projects usually save as .dnprj files, but I’ve be given a .syx file to play with. What is this and can I use the usual transfer application?

.syx is a sysex file. It’s short for system exclusive. Each message can only be received by a specific instrument exclusively. It can be a container for whatever the manufacturer wants, so long as it can be transmitted as midi. So the syx you have could be anything, it will be described if you were using C6 , but it will transmit instantly if dropped in transfer.
