Neighbor question

just got my A4, loving it so far, question though - when i use the neighbor feature on an osc 2, it of course lets the preceding track’s audio through, but when i play the “keys” on the unit, the pitch of the preceding track is fixed, regardless of what note i hit. is there a way to fix this?

not in front of my A4 but try this:

set POLY CONFIG activating only those tracks and use UNISON + USE TRK SOUNDS, then play the minikeys focusing on source track (not neighbor)

So you can trigger also the NEIGHBOR track while keytracking the source one.
EDIT
if you, say, an ARP on source track and you play on that track, you will hear the arpeggiated sound. if you play on neighbor track then you’ll get keytracking without arpeggiator (any pitch/filter keytracking offsets will follow of course)

Ok it works…

EDIT

you can have, this way, option to choose for serial or parallel behavior.

If you put at zero source TRK LEVEL then you get a serial behavior.

Also you might want to put at zero also the Unison Spread and Detune.

[Sidenote]
A4 can really go on the modular side of the things…! LoVe!!

that would’ve been my 1st suggestion, good to stack those filters up, they respond very nicely and in a good dirty way too - my other ‘hack’ style suggestion is to set both the channels to the same Midi channel and (preferably, hook up an external keyb) or wire your Out straight back into your In - it works fine if you play on either ‘neighbour’ !

thank you!

HI everybody! I want to use this thread because I cannot make work the neighbor tracks with my “new” A4 MKI, without using UNISON + USE TRACK SOUNDS with POLY.

I mean, I thought that neighbor will work as OT, but if I set a new kit (not changing anything in POLY menu) I cannot hear the T1 sound going thru T2. I read the manual and a lot of threads mentioning that is enough with setting T2 OSC2 in NEI, and turning T1 main level off. But doing this, I still can’t hear enything coming in T2.

If anyone can help me explaining step by step what fo you do for making this work I woul really appreciate it.

The NEI works well with poly, unison, by the way…

Regards

Did you trigger track 2 ?
You have to.

That’s why it worked with Unison.

Hi!,

I think I tried… but I’ll check. Do I need to just put one trig in the first step? (like thru machine in OT?), or it’s necessary to do set infinite LEN or something?

Thanks a lot @sezare56

Also make sure SUSTAIN or REL (LEN ? … I don’t remember) in Amp envelope is at maximum otherwise your trigger will “finish”…resulting in silence without another triggering of the NEIBOR

For example. You can also play the keyboard, whatever triggers the track.

Thanks a lot guys! It worked perfectly.

My problem was I was using only the built in keyboard, playing T1… so there was nothing triggering T2
