Today i had the joy to receive a mail from Elektron, saying that I could order my Analog Rytm from the customer zone like all the people who are on the waiting list…
I am waiting now to get my hands on it.
Let’s share when we have informations and when we’ll receive it…
…and yet no US distributors with them (or know when they will get them)
I’ve received the mail too, really cool news, but I prefer to buy the AR from my retailer, here in France.
After several exchanges via emails with Elektron today, my retailer has received the ok for his orders and, they confirm me that the stores will be in the batch this time !
No date, just told me in a few weeks, but Elektron’s team seems to be back from the first batch !
Yeah
THANKS so much for mentioning this here - the email went into my junk email folder and I never would have found it! This could have been a disaster for an impatient headcase like myself!
Now that I’ve replied…the waiting starts for real.
Yup. I can’t believe this. They can’t promise US stores a date, but they can already promise direct to customers it will be available soon. what’s going on?

I think this is the worst synth product rollout since the Minibrute!

What’s not to believe? It’s just me spitballing here but I think it comes down to Elektron being a small company from the EU that offers products the end users are willing to pay a premium for. Why sell a few units more - for a lower cost through those retailers remember - or have the units sit on a shelf for consignment when you can have guaranteed money in your pocket? It also shouldn’t be a surprise considering the historical availability of the company’s other products…and they also charge $108US for a button-down shirt:

These guys aren’t Roland where they can make 100,000 units of Aira toys and see where it goes. One bad release could get the company in serious trouble.
While I certainly don’t LIKE paying more I’ve heard enough in reputation and in audio material to be convinced it’ll be worth the investment. If not, fool me once, shame on you…
In my opinion the release has gone pretty well. Kinda what I expected. A little more communication, but ehhh. I thought it was well known, if you want it all smooth and such, wait a year. It was three year before the OT got the pickup machine. The AR’s OS is better than functional, but a lot of wrinkles to iron out. I don’t mind because the other side of the coin is the device is more finished, but little is added through its life. Elektron has proven trustworthy to fix any major issues and add tons of features through OS updates years after release.

Consider that when Elektron sells direct to a customer, the product margin is much, much higher than when they sell through a retailer. So people who order direct without seeking any discounts are the high-priority customers, it’s natural to put their needs first.
Anyone who got the email had a reply from elektron yet?

EDIT: It is 2:10am EST on May 14 (in Connecticut, USA) and I’ve just placed my order. 8641xx!
Ordered yesterday, it already says order shipped… Can’t wait!
Weird, didn’t receive an e-mail (not in my junk folder as well). And the unit is out of stock again…
You have to answer the mail, and then you can order it from your customer zone… It stayed out of stock…
Did you put yourself on the waiting list before or after the first batch was available for order?
Just received my Rytm from Cut Off Pro Audio in Barcelona and highly recommend them - efficient friendly service, good prices.

Yes, I fully understand. I was just being antsy with my preorder. My AR will eventually come. I’m just gonna hide in my studio and mess around with liquid rhythm for the meantime.
Mine shipped today! Thought it was going to be weeks. Ordered 4 days ago.
I just received mine about 10 minutes ago. Ready to rock!
Except…the Quick Start guide they put in the box is in Japanese!!! hahahahaha
Thankfully the manual is on the site and I printed a hard copy for myself at work last night.
truth to be told, they had to open a third bank account first as the other 2 were full already. should be good now
