Lovely work. I asked this question on YouTube but this is probably a better communication option. How does one program so many notes into the DN? do you have to halve the track tempo or something tricky like that?
And as an aside, I saw nils frahm supporting caribou in an ancient amphitheatre on the coast of Croatia. Without question one of the best nights of my life.
nice work man
Well done.
Saw Nils in Chicago and was a night I’ll never forget. This took me back a bit
Great! I really like Frahm’s music, and Olafur Arnolds and this idea is really nice. Would be nice if you could share the presents and programming. Probably too much effort to note that down but thanks for sharing the music and the idea. Olaf

Thank you so much guys, I’m really flattered and surprised with all this positive feedback!
@Tagoe76 and @Olaf_Wolkenhauer: it’s a 36 steps pattern playing at half-speed, in order to fit the whole riff in one single pattern.
The main “arp” sound (which is not really an Arp, I programmed all the notes into the sequence) is called “Endlisch” and the keyboard solo is “TB Square EA”, both from the Digitone Keys soundbank. The pad sound is “Grace Strings” and it’s from Jogging House’s “Haunted hearts” pack, and last but not least the percussion track at the end is a snare from bank B ("Snare 330A TK).
I added Delay and Reverb to most of the tracks, and then the performance was just tweaking the filter, Amp and volume of each track, it’s much simpler than it looks.
The hardest part was to figure out the notes of the main arpeggio since there’s so much delay in the original, I’m not sure I got it 100% right but I think it’s close.
so darn good!
Thank you, glad you liked it!
So nice !!! Reaally cool
Really, really good!
Love Nils. I’m not a pianist, but he just seems to be at the top of his game.
Also, if they ever make a movie about him, I’m pitching they cast Sam Rockwell.
Mixed with Ewan McGregor.
Very nice!
It’s very easy to fall in love with his inspiring music. And it’s very easy to fall in love with his personality. He’s a Gentleman and a clever and funny guy. I saw him 3 times in Montreal and each time was a special moment.
Thank you very much guys, I appreciate all the kind words.
I’m hoping to catch Nils live in 2021, fingers crossed!
