NINA, motorized analog synth from Melbourne Instruments

@Tchu

In all seriousness though, if there’s one thing I’ve seen a lot, in the decades of beta-testing I’ve done, it’s that the exact timing or spacing of general MIDI and MIDI Sysex data can be critical for some devices.

I don’t know, but it seems plausible to me that whatever adjustments the Quadra is making to the data throughput could be tripping up the NINA.

Cheers!

Im not sure this is true, my Polyend play before I sold out worked fine powering my Quadrathru and that was via 3.5mm midi with a little dongle.

Ive used my octatrack with my Quadrathru with other things and it powers the Quadrathru with a blue light.

I believe the Quadrathru takes power from the device going into its midi in jack. Which would be the octatrack in my and your case.

Is your OT a mk2? It should work in terms of sending data and power to the Quadrathru, but I can’t speak for Nina compatibility

The OT was powering the MSQT but I couldn’t sequence the NINA. The NINA was the issue.

So apparently Nina is now MPE capable!

Are there any known bugs on Nina? If not, then the developer team has brought a bug-free product to market and introduced additional functionality in a very short time. This gives me a lot of confidence in the team (especially given how innovative the product is with a lot of complexity due to the motorized knobs)…

Is there a firmware update?

Apparently soon, was showcased at Superbooth!

Has anyone who owns one of these utilised the USB-IN which is class compliant?

Wondering if I can hook something like a Torso T1 sequencer straight into this via USB

I used it with the op1f like this and it worked perfectly. It was a joy!

As in using the op1f to sequence it?

I’ve used it with my MPC Live 2 for a while now. to sequence and program change the Nina. Nothing crazy yet so I don’t know with automation and modulations yet.

Yep! It’s really amazing to sequence with the oxi one as well.

Ah shall try.
