RYTM plugged into iMac 5K directly, set to OB mode, AU plugin sees it fine and shows samples and such in drum slots but no sound (mutes checked!). Worked OK before, I’m guessing this is a broken update?
I am rocking OB exactly on the same setup as you, except for a Macbook Air instead of an iMac 5K. So there’s no reason it shouldn’t work unless the update on your AR didn’t run well.
There’s many reasons that could make it not sound. So I’m gonna make a “check chain” so we don’t forget anything. Most of them are obvious, not that I’m treating you as fool.
- Analog Rytm being able to output audio to USB:
Hub plugged/powered >> AR plugged to hub >> OB mode on AR >> Mutes on AR >> Sample/synth volumes on AR >> No filter acting, cutting most of the audible signal >> AMP level on AR
- Getting audio from USB to Daw:
[open OB control panel] Input from Analog Rytm (corresponding channels enabled) >> OB Plugin (VST/AU) loaded and enabled on Daw >> Buffers of OB plugin and DAW/Host match >> OB Plugin as source of audio for input audio channels in DAW >> Each input channel associated to a concrete machine/percussion >> Corresponding channels/volumes enabled and turned as audio inputs/recording >> Master enabled >> Your audio interface as output
Check all of those steps. If it doesn’t work yet, try using AU instead of VST, since this last one is giving me headaches since the update.
