Something that’s playing over and over in my head: the optimal devices to plug into Digitone’s L and R, pan them both centre, and take advantage of its sequencer plus Overbridge or USB audio.
Things I think about:
mono preferred, to not have to sum
sound contrast to the Digitone, and each other
presets for easy session recall
built-in FX a plus, because you might not want e.g. delay on drums as well as synth
multi-timbral neat to use up 4 MIDI tracks
The minimal setup, and finding just the right one, really keeps me thinking.
The sound design is pleasantly direct compared to DN, and it’s super fun to be sequenced from DN over MIDI. Trig conditions to get lots of variation out of each pattern.
Just Digitakt in stereo with midi being sent from one to the other and back again for extra LFOs, additional sequencer fuckery, etc. Digitone outputs hooked up to Digitakt for on the fly sampling. Digitakt outputs going through the Digitone’s master distortion. They’re made for each other. You’re welcome
Probably the best bang for the buck there is actually, plus you can plug DN into Typhon too, and use the awesome Dreadbox filter and Sinevibes FX on top of your DN hi quality digital FM mayhem.
