Octa & a4 reverb question

Hi guys!
i dont use overbridge and usually compose with octa and a4 (or other machines) and then track into ableton and use the plugin flexibility there.
Do you save your octa/a4 reverb with the sound to ableton, or whatever sequencer you are using?
There is so much you can do with a reverb or delay in ableton, and not so much if its already saved with the original sound.
Should i just jam with a4 effects and than save them without to ableton?
(of course if they are not parameter locked)
Also, how do you find octa&a4 reverb and delay, compared to lets say, valhalla or fabfilter?
many thanx

In my opinion the reverb on A4 is an essential part of it’s sound sculpting capabilities, and same thing with the OT although perhaps less than on the A4. I definitely use the effects on both rather than add them later in a DAW, but if I want say, a really high q. plate reverb i’ll add it later since neither really have that sort of sound.

For me it depends if an effect is an integral part of the sound or if it’s more ‘seasoning’. If it’s part of the sound, I’ll record with fx.

But it also depends on other things. Sometimes, you’d want to use send effects, because you want to have several sounds in the same space, or maybe you want to run several sounds through the same effect to ‘glue’ them together or you simply want to do certain processing in your daw.

Sometimes it’s better to have less options and to just commit, though. Less chance of getting sidetracked here and there, so maybe you just want to record the sound as much ‘finished’ as possible.

If it sounds good, it sounds good.

OT’s fx are very flexible, but because of the pretty wide range they cover, it often takes some time to dial in a particular sound.

A4/AK fx are good and fit very well to the synth. Imho.

I haven’t used overbridge with the A4 yet, but I believe the wet signal is routed to the master output. So your 4 analog signals remain dry if you track them seperate over USB

Yes, with OB you can have the four synth tracks dry + effects on a seperate track.

Ok so simply use the effects on the A4 and decide later which one you prefer. Or use both. Mix in de A4 wet signal with valhalla or whatever applied to the tracks. Lot of freedom

thnx for everyone"s reply. Do you combine a4 reverbs with third party reverbs in sequencer a lot?
And maybe a few tips about setting up reverb and delay in a4?
