OctaEdit - Octatrack Software Editor and Librarian [ OSX / Windows ]

That pricing is for all modules. The modules available are:

Project: Allows the ability to manage all aspects of a Project.

Samples: Allows the ability to manage samples within a Project, add new samples form the Audio Pool or Chainer modules, or from the file system.

Audio Pool: Allows access to all samples within a Set’s Audio Pool for easy integration with the Samples and Chainer modules, or the file system.

Chainer: Allows the ability to create ‘Sample Chains’ by merging up to 64 audio files. The resultant audio file can then be imported directly into a Project, and played back via slice points.

Manager: Provides the ability to copy “data” from the Source Set/Project to the Target Set/Project. Data can be copied at the Project, Bank, Pattern, Track, Part or Scene level, from any Project in any Set to any other Project in any other Set, including the ability to remap sample assignments on the fly.

Analytics: Multi purpose reporting and analysis module, which provides results from the analysis engine, and is integrated with OctaEdit’s other modules.

Options: Handles end user customisation, OctaEdit’s behaviour, system options and so forth.

I’m not sure if thats a compliment or not.
I don’t feel like a hacker, just a lucky guess.

Either way, Lets ROCK!

Same here.

I’ll hack vicariously, and going by all the reactions I see here, I’m on it too!

I hope your kitties will like all the new kibble Rusty.

Now:

Take. My. Money.

Cry Havok! and let slip the octaeditor of lore

I think I’ll wait and see for like a week and probably just bite haha. Looks really great man!

I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before… but I’ll do a copy/pasta from the FAQ to ensure no obfuscation on the matter…

What exactly is meant by “Early Access”?

It means that whilst OctaEdit is by and large stable, with no show stopping bugs, there may be a few teething problems and/or minor issues that have slipped through beta testing.

The concept of an early access or public beta release is to isolate any issues, make enhancements, responds to feature requests etc. prior to general release with a limited pool of users.

The early access release will be restricted to a limited number of people, on a first come, first served basis, and is for the brave vanguard, or foolishly eager.

Do not purchase OctaEdit via Early Access on the basis that you want / expect everything to work flawlessly, wait until the stable release.

So how do I make an early access purchase?

Think I’ve got enough in the kitty at the swop shop to be an early worm

My bet is that it’s released before Overbridge…

I’m in. Pulling the OT out of storage tomorrow. Woohoo.

pay by poopal only. :disappointed:

dont want to have to wake up my dormant acc, its been sleeping for years now :sleepy:

will have to annoy somebody to use their acc :zonked:

installed here on my W8 machine with no problems … looking good.

Now for some road-testing!

First 2 thoughts … option for a font even 1 or 2 pixels bigger would be nice … creating a project from scratch would be nice (ie that the install folder contains a ‘blank project’ to start work on, rather than having to use an existing OT created file. Or maybe I’ll find how to do that when I explore a bit; guess I just transfer over my own ‘default’ starter set to my pc and use that)

Woot!

Customisable fonts / sizes is in the pipeline, but wanted to make sure I can get all the functionality working / on screen first

So, ready when it’s ready kind of thing.

  • Create a new Set (Called Empty or Template or Stuff Things) on the Octatrack

  • Create a new Project (Also called Empty or Template or Stuff Things) on the Octatrack

  • Copy this to a location on your machine, or just use the OT direct over USB, and open in OctaEdit.

  • File - Save As…

  • Save to a folder (which will be the Set folder) and give it a new name (which will be the Project name)

There’s um, other stuff I can’t comment on just yet…

PURCHASED!!!   Going on tour next week, such perfect timing. Thanks Rusty!

Purchased. Where is the module, which looks after the kids while I am trying this out?

Cheers
