OctaEdit - Octatrack Software Editor and Librarian [ OSX / Windows ]

Good on you, I F5’d a lot and made it into one of the early access, but laughed when I heard it was only 4. There’s a lot of interest, and there’ll be even more as this suite develops

Hey Rusty, when i bought an early access last weekend, I didn’t realize it was limited to 4 and that I was using up a rare slot. You should probably open up an extra slot or two since these days I am overwhelmed with: work, renovations, coaching U15 soccer, and playing in a hockey beer league twice a week…not necessarily in that order…and will probably have little time to put OE through its proper paces. It did install and work like a charm on my Win8.1 64-bit laptop however.

lol, you guys… there was a lot more then 4 early access licenses… They just got nabbed really quickly.

You missed the reference… it ties back into this post from a few pages back…

Early Access licences: Clarification.

Rather then allow all seven people who wanted it, to buy it, and get inundated with support issues and feature requests, the number of early access licences was limited to four.

Those four early access licences got snapped up pretty damn quick.

I hope you can all appreciate and understand why such an approach was taken, as I believe having an inital controlled release would be the best way to roll out to a wider user base, whilst providing the best level of service and support that I can.

Remembering that I am only one guy, and i[/i] OctaEdit is very feature rich and complex, and no-one wants to have to deal with buggy software and showstopping bugs on a product they purchased, and not getting the support they want and deserve because the developer is curled up in the corner crying in a fetal position because of all the stess.

Hi rusty, I didn’t make the 10 cut but I’m still interested, humble PayPal account as tithe, should another free spot open up

Rusty, lol, I guarantee I will never be the cause of the following event:

When it is ready for full release

But for you, ping me a message with your email and someone elses PayPal, I’ll send the invoice, then sort out you as the account afterwards.

Would love to paypal it

So, I wonder if I could run OctaEdit with Ubuntu, since people have made it work with Wine on OSX. Rusty, any chance of getting an evaluation copy for testing it?

hey rusty,
if theres any more slots going for an early license or anyone else has dropped out, i’m ready to enter the thunderdome

Hey it’s Masproduct am I still included?

I’ll ping you a pm.

man, this is the most frustrating thing ever.
I wish you would just pm folks privately and recruit them for your cult than having to go thru this frustrating BS of being able to get “early access”
like I’m trying to get into some nightclub or something.
BAD MARKETING and it makes me hate you. But you know we need it, you frikkin crack dealer.

Sent you a PM Rusty

Wow! 4 licenses. I was one of the lucky ones, just wanted to put in my support.

I am first going to hook it up in July, as I am currently composing not doing live stuff, so give my spot to another and see you in 3 - 4 weeks.

Why did you even bother replying to my post?

So… to clarify… there was a large number of Early Access licences, a LOT more than four, that were made available first on Elektronauts, then later on other forums and Facebook. They all got snapped up very quickly.

At some point, I have to draw a line in the sand, which I have already well exceeded, as I need to be able to support all the early access users personally, which I can only do by having such an inital controlled release / limited number.

This will be of benefit to everyone in the long run, as it will allow for more controlled and focused development, and I am flying solo here.

Thank you in advance for your understanding.
