OctaEdit - Octatrack Software Editor and Librarian [ OSX / Windows ]

A new module appears… The Library module.

The Library module provides a Library where various “Entries” can be stored and retrieved.

Entries are essentially presets relating to various items in a Project, e.g. Project Midi Channels, Machine Setups or LFO Designs for example.

Seems you chose a bunch of people who
either didnt have the time or inclination and some without the skills imo.
Not that i give fck that i wasnt one, but i know some who should have been.

Just lets us know when its actually available to EVERYONE,

I’m getting drunk, but from your post it feels like the only reply should be ‘fuck off’.
I’m sure someone else will express the same concept more politely…

If you are one person supporting a new release of software and you are offering to Skype users that are having problems to help them and you are located in Australia and most of your initial customers are not, how many early users could you support at that level?

In addition, start a forum for supporting your product and seemingly be on-line 24/7 answering questions and posting updates with new features and bug fixes.

Think about that for a moment and think about early users potentially running in serious bugs that could (not that it has) crash the OT and/or lose data, how much responsibility would you be willing to take on?

how’s that?

The LFO Designer module.

The LFO Designer module provides the ability to graphically design LFO shapes that can that be applied to any track, and/or stored in the Library for future use.

The LFO Designer additionally features an advanced feature set including Inversion, Reverse, Randomisation (various levels) and shuffling.

The LFO Designer module is additionally fully integrated with the Sequencer and Library modules.

The Arp Designer module.

The Arp Designer module provides the ability to graphically design Arp shapes that can that be applied to any track, and/or stored in the Library for future use.

The Arp Designer additionally features an advanced feature set including Inversion, Reverse, Randomisation (various levels) and shuffling.

The Arp Designer module is additionally fully integrated with the Sequencer and Library modules.

Why is that every time someone is enthusiastically trying to make the world a better place in a way, somehow trolls show up only to pour cold water?
It’s happening every time, if someone actually does something, the haters come. Guaranteed.

Because that’s what internet does to people. The feeling of anonymity turns people into trolls.

Thanks for helping to prove Rusty’s point. If he’d been inundated with support requests for this early in the release, you’d be spitting EVEN WORSE bile on every single forum you get your mitts into.

Take a break from the internet if this causes such horrific distress, sheesh.

I’m only learning how to use the OT and I want to learn how to use it the standard way, hardware only, but I’m sure I’ll get this as soon as it releases officially, it looks great.

For those curious, still on target for full release in July.

There is still one more module, about to be released soon, before full release.

It is a massive, massive update… and there is literally 1,000’s of things to check… but will be well worth it.

Looking forward to it. If the price is below $100 and I can get it running in Wine, I’d definitely buy a license.

Looks totally interesting  Do u have any aprox date for the release? Would be awesome if it came out real soon…really need this for organize tracks for dj sets with my octatrack :stuck_out_tongue:

hey rusty,

just want to let you know how much i appreciate the
fact there is a guy like you who put all that effort to realize
this editor for the OT !

take all the time you need to make the best out of it.

don´t forget to enjoy summer !

i don´t know why people are so frustrated sometimes ?

just want to send some good vibes, maybe a little bit of it ends up
in the Octa Edit !

yeahhh … RUSTY !!!

I’m about to add a massive update that adds a ridiculous amount of new funtionality… so I’d say a realistic timeframe should be in a week or two, all going well.

Early access users will get to play with it first, provide feedback / request enhancements and that will also give me a chance to catch any bugs that may appear / I may have missed.

Additionally, I have some personal stuff coming up over the next week, so I’ll be holding back release till after that is cleared up to ensure I can give 100% focus and support.

:+1:

one quick question: will it be possible to easily rearrange the position of my patterns including the connected parts etc.?
I mean: Move Bank 1 Pattern 1 to Bank 3 Pattern 4 etc.

Yes.

Single Set: You can copy/paste or drag/drop anything from anywhere to anywhere within a Set; including across multiple different Projects; this is done via the Sequencer module.

Multiple Sets: You can copy anything from any ‘Source’ Set/Project to any ‘Target’ Set/Project. This is done via the Manager module.

Or… you can save anything from anywhere to the Library module; e.g. An Audio track, an LFO Design, entire Part, or even just the FX settings of a single Paramter Lock, literally anything, and use these again anywhere you want.
