Octatrack MK2 Live recording mode problem

Hi everybody,
I came across this problem with using the live recording mode on the octatrack, and can’t seem to find the solution anywhere, but i’m still a newbie on this machine so it might be a beginner’s question.
I’ve searched in the manual about the live recording section, and it only mentions how enter this mode before play is engaged.
Is it possible to enter this mode during a performance, or you need to stop the machine ?

Yes. Do it the same way. Hold [REC] and tap [PLAY]. Tap [REC] to exit.
