I guess it’s what kind of dj you want to be and how much work you’re willing to put into it. Turntablists are “black belt dj’s” compared to the EDM white/yellow belt dj’s imo (alright, some may have passed the green/blue belt at some point). So if the OP wants to go the dj way (not really sure about it though) , I’d suggest to go the turntablist way for obvious “performance reasons”.
