Quick question. I have never used open back headphones before. I plan on using them in my apt . Its just me so dont have to worry about noise in the apt per say but I do live in the middle of the city so my question is how much noise do they let in? There is street traffic, construction, etc. I would not say its anything crazy but will I be able to hear all this if I go with open back headphones? Should I be looking at closed back instead? Thanks!
Yep, they don’t really block out any external sound. You’ll still be able to hear the hum of your equipment too.
Depends how much it bothers you. Open backs have a more natural, open sound whereas closed backs tend to be a bit boxier and with more bass.
If you’re able to then try a few pairs on.
