I just wanted to point a new great device available with the last update of ableton live, in Max for live Essentials: https://www.ableton.com/en/packs/max-live-essentials/.
It is called MAP8 :
"MAP8 is a utility macro device especially useful with Push and other 8 knob controllers".
You can use it to map any paramater in any track.
So far, I had the following configuration :
- track 1 in ableton : elektron vst
- track 2 in ableton : external instrument device sending midi to track 1 in ableton and receiving audio from the A4 track 1.
- track 3 in ableton : external instrument device sending midi to track 1 in ableton and receiving audio from the A4 track 2.
- And so on for track 4 and 5.
One problem I had so far is that I could only edit the automation of the 4 tracks of the A4 from the ableton track 1 (where the elektron vst is). Now with the MAP8 device I can edit the automation from any track in ableton (2, 3, 4, 5), and create dedicated clips (with enveloppes) for each track of the A4.
