I feel I must be doing something wrong with my Digitone.
I have midi routing set up to play the 4 tracks 1-4, and everything works great. If I hit record and play the notes, the sequencer picks up the triggers properly.
However, if I hold a trig and press midi notes, it does not pick up the notes I put in.
Instead, it just keeps the root note of the “Trig” menu.
This doesn’t make any sense to me. It works when playing, but not when trig selecting?
Is there a setting or something I’m doing wrong?
Is this a feature that is only available on the digitone Keys and not the regular digitone?
Ugh, somenoe help me please. As an A4 / 303 user this is an absolute must and it is really killing my workflow.
Instead of dissing it why not read the manual as I suggested - the auto channel is a unique midi channel which has a role in this task
the auto channel is set on the device and you only need to set the transmit channel on the external keyboard once to that channel - then every time you change tracks the DN will follow you
really rather easy for a workflow enhancement on a number of levels
try to read and absorb the manual’s description of the auto channel - this is the best way to learn its value
I’m not trying to diss it, there are just restrictions with the implementation that don’t make sense to me.
With the way implementation currently works, it would be impossible for me to play the notes of one track while editing the filter or synth settings of another track. As soon as I change tracks, I’ll be playing that sound.
I guess I don’t understand why “auto” is necessary at all for trig inputs. If the Midi recording works perfectly fine while recording with just the midi channel, shouldn’t the trig note just pick up off of that?
