is ist possible to play and record polyphonic sounds from the dominion club via MIDI on the digitone?
If you use a midi keyboard connected to Dominion Clubs midi in, connect the midi out/thru to the Digitone midi in then probaply yes.
Set Dominion Club to the midi channel that is set as auto channel on the Digitone.
Okay, cool, thanks! And if I haven´t got a MIDI keyboard, is it possible to use the digitone as MIDI keyboard and the digitakt like the digitone before?
Recording poly from Digitone into Digitakt’s midi sequencer?
I don’t have Digitone or Digitakt, but try setting it up like this:
Digitone midi config -> Port Config -> Out Port Func Midi, Output to Midi (or Midi+USB if you need).
Then you have two options; use chromatic mode from a synth track or use a midi track on the Digitone.
From a synth track:
Set Trig Keys Destination Int+Ext.
You’d have to set one of the Track Midi Channels on Digitone to the Auto Channel of the Digitakt. Then you can just use the trig keys of the Digitone if that track is active to record into Digitakt.
If you want to use a midi track on the Digitone to play the Digitakt you can leave that on Int.
Midi Track should output on the midi channel you have set as Auto Channel on Digitakt.
Probaply a better solution to use a midi track.
Digitakt midi config -> Port Config -> Input from Midi (or Midi+USB if you need).
Now you can activate live record mode on the Digitakt or hold a trig and record by playing on the Digitone.
Like I said, I don’t have any of the two, so if I got anything wrong, please correct me
Okay, thank ou very mutch for this detailed answer! I will try and hope it works
No. The Dominion is a monophonic synth no matter what you use to play it.
Unless I’m totally misunderstanding what you’re asking.
I thought he wanted to record notes into the Digitone…
The idea was to play notes/sounds from the dominion club with the digitone. I wanted to use the digitone as an keyboard which can play the sounds from the dominion club. But this is still a problem i can´t handle at the moment. I think i connect the midi in/out in the wrong way and also the channels. It drives me cracy at the moment
Then ofc you can’t play polyphonic sounds.
Dominion Club is a mono synthesizer…
Connect midi out from Digitone to midi in on the Dominion Club.
Then on the Digitone press the [Midi] button and Trig 1-4 to go to a midi track. Press Syn1 button, the midi channel on the upper left has to be the same that is set on the Dominion Club.
Page 20 of the Dominion Club pdf manual explains how to change the midi channel)).
Best choose a midi channel there that isn’t used by any other synth you have.
Make sure midi output is enabled (Digitone midi config -> Port Config -> Out Port Func Midi, Output to Midi)
Digitone pdf manual page 60 has a setup guide.
