Q: Sequencing VSTs on DT with MIDI keyboard

Hello.

I’m having a bit of trouble getting Ableton, Digitakt and reface CS to work together.

I would basically like to use the CS as a midi controller to control VSTs in ableton and sequence them on Digitakt.

I’ve got both the DT and the CS connected to my laptop via separate USB connections and I can control the VSTs with either no problem, but I can’t get it to work like outlined above.

Any advice is appreciated.

Assuming you are using Overbridge, set up a MIDI track in Ableton with your Reface as your source (specify a channel), and your DT as the destination (target your DT’s Autochannel). Then every time you set your reface to the channel you specified, it will send notes to the DT’s autochannel, and whatever track is selected on the DT will receive them.

Edit: although I guess you probably don’t even need to use Overbridge

Thank you, I set them up on the same Autochannel and that seemed to do the trick
