Right on - it’s also the advice I give to people applying for jobs. Chasing an opportunity that demands you to be someone you are not is a route to frustration and dissapointment, not just for you but for everyone involved.
Being yourself might limit your options, but only to those for which you are ideally suited.

Anyway, I personally suggest not contributing in any way to a reliance, physical or psychological, on a chemical substance (natural or otherwise) to cope with social discomfort…unless it prescribed by a medical professional and you feel 100% satisfied with your understanding of its long term side effects / dependency characteristics.
