Record distortion on the rytm

Hello,

Could somebody help me out How You record distortion om My track that i am making.

I Open the vst configure Go To fx click on the distortion .
Open a midi clip in ableton . Automate the fx distortion but then i am stuck How tobrecord only the distortion on My track.

What do i need To setup in My control panel . Enable Main l Main r input . But thennin ableton whatvdo i need To choose in the option audio from . Ennhow do i have To record the distortion

Distortion is a global effect, and can only be recorded from the main outputs L+R.
