OB so far has been pretty good, latency almost zero which is perfect. im experiencing audio dropouts every 10 mins or so…but today my rytm seems to be working fine… on OB app i have a green dot but on the vst it is red? seems to work fine so far. i was wondering if this was a know bug or if something is indeed wrong with my set up?
just realized upon restarting ableton is that firstly the dot is the green spinning one and after a few minutes of spinning it turns red??
What OS and which versions?
everything is up to date. seems to be working just now. green spinning dot for a long time then turned green. but it seems quite sporadic, sometimes green and sometimes red.
I have this exact problem on a couple different machines.
Note that both are running the GM of El Capitan (I’m a developer, I have to) and this is really the first time I’m digging into OB with the A4 so I’m not sure if that alone is the problem or not. The problem occurs on a Mac mini (Late 2012) with 16GB RAM and also on a MacBook Pro (15in, Retina, Mid 2014) also with 16GB RAM.
Both are running OB 1.0 and the A4 has the latest 1.21b. Ableton Live Suite 9.2.2 32-bit.
I can get audio to work fine. The OB control panel sees the connection and is green. However, the VST on a MIDI track in Ableton does not connect. It turns green, it might spin green then it turns red and stays that way. Restarting, rebooting, relaunching doesn’t seem to fix it. Multiple USB cables tried including the one that came with the A4.
I have an Overhub, maybe I should try that…will do and report back…
No joy - even the overhub makes no difference. Didn’t really expect it to but just wanted to be complete. Maybe it’s a known El Capitan issue?
I think it is an El Capitan issue. Lots of people seem to have that issue with El Capitan, including me. I wish I didn’t install it, but I don’t feel like reinstalling Mavericks.
Crap - ah well - and so we wait… Thanks for the added info! So much for entering the contest
I wonder if the beta Ableton Live may fix it - I’ll try to try that at some point and see.
Todd erases a red dot!
any update on this? i just set up live 9.5 on my new installed el capitan laptop, and the red dot issue appears as descriped by davros909.
It’s a known issue with Overbridge 1.0 in El Capitan, it will be fixed in the 1.1 update which should (hopefully) be along fairly shortly.
