Science Lab Challenge, February 2015

Sweet!

^ whaā€¦

PongFu just spoiled the ā€˜competitionā€™, wtf, i was gonna to rustle sommink up tonight , why bother ā€¦ except, i am utterly convinced the winner will be using an AR, itā€™s obvious ! anyway, besides the masterful programming and delicate tune, i am utterly astonished that those synth lines couldā€™ve come out of the OT, let alone that sample, sublime :+1:

my other theory is that someone on warp has an alter-ego :alien:
yeah I agree plenty of awesome tracks, but this one is absolutely amazing.
I also had that alter-ego theory at some point, just imagineā€¦ ; )

My effort. First bit of ā€˜musicā€™ Iā€™ve written in around 10 years. Good fun this octatrack!

Your not f***in kidding. I am really glad I refrained from listening to these until I had pretty much finished my track and submitted it, otherwise I probably wouldnā€™t have bothered starting. Some absolutely astounding stuff.
Presumably there are others too who havenā€™t posted in the thread, the full soundcloud list when compiled is going to be pretty intense.
I kinda wish they had stipulated that all sysex/projects were required for every track (not just the winners), there should be lots to learn from all of this, some of the synth riff stuff has mashed my head in. Smart folks.
Ill def post my sysex file after the winner is announced. Bonus tid bit about my sysex file - my 808(that i samples directly into the md) samples are part of it.

HOLY SHIT!!

Hopefully not another 10 year wait!! Love it :+1:

well, since everyone did it, i guess i should to.

Wow the post count has gone crazy in the last 24hrs. Many more MD tracks as well. A lot to listen to tonight.

Here is my attempt on the trusty MD. Iā€™m not confident on OT yet and tend to just use it as an effects and playback box.

Deep manā€¦".my Sub" indeed !

I made something too on the AR. Great way to learn the machineā€™s sample engine.

maybe its time i tried it on the OT. This is a blinder

Just sent my submission. Hereā€™s what I made! :alien:

heres my MD attempt. learned heaps as a result of this challenge and opened up a whole new world of how to use samples in my machinedrumā€¦ and its made me want an octatrack and a rytm so bad after hearing what everyone else has done with theirs.

took the dark acid-y approach

Hello guys,

My track on MD UW.

I had to choose a minimalistic approach, because of the ā€œpadsā€ quite hard to get on MDUW, but at the end the old hottie is not ashamed with the result compared to her little sisters

I had a really good time doing this exercise. I hope to see more events like that in the future.

brilliant track.

Playing around preparing my entry for the Elektron Science Lab Challenge, February 2015 was so much fun.

All sounds come out of the Analog Rytm taken out of a single voice loop.

Nord Lead has local mode deactivated and is only functioning as a MIDI controller.

Ā”keep the challenges coming! its super fun to learn more about our machines this way!

And finally here is my track:

It was really fun to get deeper in the Octatrack sphere.

Done with my MD
too hard!

I was just waiting for somebody to start this ā€œhow the hell are they going to judgeā€ ā€¦ by bet is on : a blind monkey taking a dumb on random pieces of paper , or blindfolded elektron intern throwing darts, or rent the Google AI and have ana algorythm decide ā€¦ I would not wanna be the ā€œoneā€ responsible !

HereĀ“s a simple dunkadunka-track
