Science Lab Challenge, February 2015

Made a second short track with the raw sample, for people who are not members here and want to see the starting sample.

Added two outtake patterns I didn’t use in my submission.

That’s awesome! I’d definitely like to have a look at how MD tracks such as this are made, I’ve always struggled with tuning by retrig timing values when attempting to make melodic passages.

With only a few hours left of the contest I’d like to congratulate all those who participated and shared their links. I’ve been paging though and listening to submissions for the last hour or so. Lots of neat stuff. :+1:

I had a great time doing this challenge and listening to the soundcloud links posted here.
Here’s my submission:

Hola!

Here is my entry, its amazing how you can turn one voice sample in to this mystical ambiental sounds:

I think this was a great idea and it made me learn a lot about my AR

PS: a little video i made during the process:

Thank you!
and keep the challenges coming!

Great challenge!!!

holy fuck dude !!!.. I cant believe what you did on the MD !!! I am blown away … wouldnt be surprised to see this track on the podium, or at least later on in the soundcloud playlist as a Top 10 …

Holy cow!! That’s good.

Hi there. First time poster, long time lurker here

Here’s my entry, more on the Deep Bass Music/Future Garage side

I tried to use sample-rate / comb filter / dark reverb as a vocoder / guzheng-like melodic instrument, not 100% satisfied, but time is up now

Big up PongFu, lovely song, definitly one of my favourites so far :+1:

Best thing is definitly to listen to other entries AFTER you submitted your own tune

Has anyone received any confirmation of the submission?

Very nice challenge…Good the see and hear loads of people diggin in the elektron machines. Would love to see the stats of ‘learning curves on Elektron gear’ over the last week…

Must it be an MP3 320…? Isn’t it ok with wav?

:joy: my exact sentiments
wish I hadn’t posted my half-baked atrocity now.

No, we have so many entries that WAV files will be too large for us to handle.

Bloody stressful to upload in the last minute and to see soundcloud fucking around with my brain…track still being processed after 10 minutes from uploading

Now here is my submission…nothing fancy but it was fun as hell to learn so much stuff doing this. Big thanks!!

hi, this is my entry… soundcloud acts funny, so don’t know if it will show up or not…
Had lots of fun, OT went rogue on me and changed the slices totally, but i had a save stored to recall. The last laugh is mine, ha. “SAVE SAMPLE PROPERTIES” is an important feature, remember to use it, saved me a lot of trouble this time!

Good luck to all

Yess…this is great…You managed to make the OT sound like the AR haha genius!!
