I’m multitracking my digitakt via overbridge into ableton and i have my modular system plugged into the digitakt inputs. All is working fine in the sense where i can have digi tracks 1-8 in ableton with a seperate channel for the modular input as well as a sum channel for delay and reverb being added to tracks 1-8.
One issue im facing is it seems that the FX sum channel doesn’t pick any sound from my modular when i try to dial in some delay/reverb on the external input mixer. If i turn up the ‘in level’ it starts registering the modular signal but also brings in the dry input from the modular making it go up in volume. Even with the fx at 127 it doesn’t give me a completely wet sound.
Has anyone figured this out? I’ve tried tinkering with the audio routing settings etc, but havent had much luck.
When you mention DT Midi track do you mean the track being armed in Ableton or something within the device itself? My modular isn’t being sequenced from the DT midi directly as it has its own sequencer. The DT is only sending a clock.
Also for Audio Routing I disabled tracks 1-8 so that it only sends the FX. It doesn’t seem like there’s any sort of option for the external input mixer to do this unless if I’m missing something?
Your Ableton looks identical to mine. on ‘DT inputs’ the signal from my modular is dry with the input volume on the external mixer input at 0. Even with the reverb at 100% on the external mixer there is no wet reverb coming in on the FX track.
Only if i turn up the external input volume on the DT both the wet and dry sound will come on the FX track. I don’t see an option to disable external mixer on the main outs.
I see what you mean now. Your right, the Inputs dry signals are mix on the FX Track and I can’t see a way to fix this. I guess I’ve always used the Inputs without DT’s FXs.
