“Send MIDI” doesn’t send midi unless on auto channel

Hopefully someone can help me figure this out

In the update notes it states the following:

“Added the functionality that the tracks set to SEND MIDI now also forwards the incoming data from external MIDI controllers to the MIDI OUT port for control of an external device.“

The problem is that I can only get this to work if using the auto channel. If I try to use the tracks midi channel then no data is sent “thru” to the midi out port. Is this not possible or have I missed something?

Thanks

I guess I can use a midi merge box to achieve this. Anyone else using one for this purpose?

Do you want to play notes from A4 sequencer and merge external midi controller miidi messages on different channels ?
A merger would do the job, yes.

I’d basically like the option of sequencing all 4 tracks from the internal sequencer or my MC-707 without having to switch from midi out to thru port each time. I think for this purpose I’m gonna need a midi merger. It looks like though, since the update, if you wanna just use a midi controller keyboard to play/input notes then you can just use the auto channel

Ok. No midi out from sequencer before !
At “midi out option” update release, midi in > track thru wasn’t possible IIRC.

Still limited.

Thanks for confirming. I just didn’t want to waste my money on a midi merge box if it wasn’t needed
