Sequencing from Ableton via Overbridge

I’m assuming most of us using this in tandem with Ableton. Anyone having good success with sequencing anything past basic note messages.

There seems to be a few hurdles to overcome.

(x) send midi notes, running clips of both the A4 & AR.
(x) automate performance pad of AR. (video)

( ) record patterns from ableton into electron boxes.

Hi danlukas,
yes this is possible but you can´t do this with the VST/AU.
The plug in does not send the midi information the units.
You have to select the MIDI (out) port (like pre Overbridge) in Live´s preferences.

Analog Four (Elektron Midi) / Analog Rytm (Elektron Midi) (MacOS)

(Win 10 unifies the midi ports under one name (you can´t send midi to two units, but this does not happen under MacOs)

On the midi tracks you have to select "midi to Analog Four (Elektron Midi) / Analog Rytm (Elektron Midi) as destination. This works for PrGrCh, too.

Have fun.

thanks.
bummer.
but i know how to accomplish that.
it seems the best way to accomplish programmed automation is through configuring the plugin to reveal the different parameters you’ll want edited.

i’m surprised more people aren’t attempting to do this type of sequencing w/ with overbridge.

i cant figure out how to send midi clip (note) data to each individual track on the AK. it works in 4-part poly mode, but i cant figure out how to set it up so each track on the AK gets its own note data

Hi,
i had to set some options first on the unit before i could record on each track.
GLOBAL->MIDI CONFIG->MIDI PORT CONFIG
RECEIVE NOTES (YES)
RECEIVE CC/NRPN (YES/NO)
LIVE REC ON TRK CH (YES)

GLOBAL->MIDI CONFIG->MIDI CHANNELS

Set as you like. Iam using Track Midi Ch 1-4.

Live-> create 1-4 Midi tracks -> set “Midi to…” to AnalogFour (Midi Port) (for details - see post above).

You can now record on each of the A4 tracks, just start Live Record on the A4.

I am using Live as my midi library, clips and track templates are definitely more comfortable. If i like something i record it with the A4. i hope Overbridge gets some features to make this even more comfortable.

Plugin automation + Live Rack Macros + Max4Live + Clip Envelopes + Analog 4 Performance Page + P-locks :joy:
