Sequential Prophet 6

Is that Jordan Rudess in that poster?

If it involves keys, or the idea of music, then thatā€™s Jordan Rudess in every poster.

Hey there! Anyone with a Prophet 6 that could help me a bit? I have my first sound pack coming up soon for the P6 and was wondering if someone could help me out by downloading the sound pack sysex and import it to their P6 to make sure it works ok? Let me know and Iā€™ll send you the sysex file(s).

Itā€™s a singer-songwriter / cinematic type of sound pack (100 patches) with lots of emotional keys, plucks and pads but also some fx/drones and bass. Iā€™ll be making it available for free / pay what you want once I get some demos done in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks in advance!

Just released my first sound pack for the Prophet 6 called Hazy Prophecies. You can get it for free / pay what you want thru my Bandcamp. The pack explores the more fragile side of the Prophet 6 and includes emotional, cinematic sounds which I think work nicely not only for ambient and soundtrack music but also for a more singer-songwriter sort of context.

Hope youā€™ll like the sounds! And feel free to spread the word, as Iā€™m not on any socials or other forums really.

Nice job. :+1:

How long did it take you to complete your sound pack?

Curious because I always think anything over 32 presets puts me off getting a pack in terms of the preset real estate it takes and the distraction it causes.
I think, especially on the P6 because it works in banks of 8, that makes the magic number 16, 24 or 32 in my mind.

16 well chosen patches that you know can be easily manipulated to suit your own needs, and boom, Iā€™m in. (Maybe :upside_down_face:). :boom:

I know this is really subjective and personal btw, but interested in othersā€™ takes on it.

Iā€™ve had my Sub37 and P6 side by side for a few weeks now, and last week decided compare them more directly with each other from INIT stateā€¦ and, Captain Obvious alert, itā€™s amazing how different they soundā€¦ I also threw my Arturia Polybrute into the mix with them, starting them all from a single OSC Sawtooth sound, and, it really makes me appreciate how good and unique the Sub37 is.
I love the P6, and I really like the PolyBrute, but they can get into each otherā€™s territory where you could match the PB to the P6 and not tell the difference in a track. But neither of them can get close to the Moog sound, and the same in reverse, the Moog canā€™t really sound like the P6.

Having the 3 synths side by side is fantastic, and I love how the simple/bread and butter sounds makes them shine and clearly show their own personalities.

Also, keybedsā€¦ I think Iā€™ve defended the PolyBrute keybed in the past, but itā€™s horrendously light/flimsy compared to the Sub37 and P6.

Thank you!

This pack was in the making for the last three months, on and off. I actually made almost 300 patches and tried to be critical of what I put in the pack but itā€™ll be spread across two volumes now. Just got the demos done for this first one and wanted to release it now, partly because my holiday ends and Iā€™ll be going back to work tomorrow, ha!

Your point about the number of patches is valid, and I was actually thinking about making separate sysexes for the keys, pads, bass etc. and put those up on the Google Drive as well. Too bad you can only export patches one by one, in tens or in banks and not, say, 1 thru 27 (specific numbers) tho. Maybe Iā€™ll also create a selection of about 40 patches that are the crĆØme de la crĆØme.

Thank you very much, Sir Ghost! Prophet 6 is great but probably safe to say youā€™re in a pretty good spot with the P5 (and P12). :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey there folks ! I recently found myself in the custody of a Prophet 6 for an unknown amount of time (probably a few years hahaha).
Here is a bit of noodling with my first patches with it for the curious.
