Chopped a friend’s track on the Digitakt
The original was ambient piano through granulator. Really beautiful, but we wanted to add drums and chop it up a little. The Digitakt must be fed.
We threw parts on the DT along with 2 or 3 drum samples and went from there. When I had about 6 patterns we liked, we played them into Ableton with Overbridge, layered some pieces from the original, one last drum loop (the one that pans), and did some last cutting and mixing to make it gel.
Happy with the kind of emergent rhythms and melodies you can generate by accident with DT. Hope you like -_-.
Real sweet and enveloping sound when the piano gets so low and thick at around 1.15!
Nice balance between the original piano, this glitchy piano reshape and the percussion. Especially the toms with the subtle high pitched glassy sound (I guess a pitched piano?) on top.
