Just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue as me.
I’m using a mk1 with the latest firmware, and using the cv outputs.
When setting the source track for pitch cv to anything of the synth tracks, the cv output doesn’t change until the fourth note fired.
For example, I set the CV pitch source to TR1, and play a C4 on TR1. The cv output is now playing a C4 (or whatever voltage that corresponds to). Then I play a C5, and the cv output voltage doesn’t change. If I play 3 more C5s, the output will then jump up a volt to finally play the C5. If I set the CV source to CV (or FX track), it changes as soon as a new note is played on the CV track.
I’m trying to send an a4 voice through a eurorack effect, which I want to pitch track the a4 voice it’s affecting, but the pitch control only updates every fourth note.
I haven’t used the a4 tracks to control the cv outputs in a long time, but I think this behaviour is new.
If anyone has any insight into how to fix this, that’d be great, but I suspect it’s a bug.
sounds like you may have a poly voice mode active - disable that and then see where you stand - it still may be an issue anyway, but at least if you know why, there’s some room for manoeuvre perhaps
This strikes me as a bug (without too much deep thought why not)
The particular Sequencer track is what has been selected as the CV source, i don’t think it should be affected by which internal voice circuit the sequencer plays a voice on
Having never used the CV functions of the A4/Keys, i might be way off here - but isn’t this a way of using CV the same way as using the internal tracks in Poly Rotate mode alongside ‘Use Track Sounds’? So 4x external CV tracks get rotated too. Sounds pretty sweet!
The current behavior is for the cv track to follow the a4 voice, rather than the sequencer itself. I was able to keep poly activated, but still trigger the correct cv notes by switching the poly allocation from rotate to reset.
It would occasionally be fun to control 4 oscillators, and use rotate allocation to do the monopoly thing with an external instrument. I wouldn’t want to change it for that reason, @avantronica !
I’m sure there are nifty exploits via this behaviour and maybe reasons for it being set like this anyway - sounds more like a thing to make creative use of - so let’s not make a fuss
