Some questions about Sound Locks (newbe here)

Hi,

I’m new to the Digitone. Thanks for your understanding.

I understood so far by reading the manual (doesn’t say much about that actually) and searching the forum the Sound Locks work differently than P-locks (I’m familiar with that on the Digitakt), in that the track sound is just irrelevant to the sound locked on a step.

Now, I’m wondering, still, whether I can affect the sound locked on a step, at all.

I’m exploring a factory pattern, a drum pattern. Some steps have a delay on them, and I was trying to remove the delay, or tweak it for that step. Seems I can tweak the delay settings to my liking, but not change the send level for that sound.

Then I thought of trying to find the sound that is locked on that step. The manual says
" Press and hold the [TRIG] key of the note trig to show the assigned Sound. "

But, when in Grid recording mode, and I press a step, there is no indication of which sound that step is locked to. I’m a little puzzled…

Bonus question: are P-locks saved with the sequence, or is it possible that a sound has itself some P-locks saved within?

Thanks, I hope someone can shed some light!

Oops, newbe mistake: that particular pattern is not made of Sound Locks… for some reason I was mistaken. Exploring more I discovered is all P-locked. Incredible programming!

Question remains, for Sound Locks, is there a way to edit each sound that is locked, somehow?

Press and hold the [TRIG] key of the note trig to show the assigned Sound

When holding the trig with the assigned Sound lock the displayed parameters change to the parameters of the corresponding Sound lock and the name of the locked Sound will be shown.

To edit a trig with a Sound lock just hold the trig and change a parameter

Thanks! I realize I haven’t really tried. Too absorbed in my current piece. Makes sense!
