It still requires iLok software on your computer (the computer is the ‘dongle’ in this case, storing the authorization) and an iLok account.
At least it doesn’t need the usb key, but imo free should simply be free, unless they’re planning for this to be for pay at some point. Not super-familiar with Soundtoys tbh.
