Seeing this new soma pipe manual
Pipe manual phone-sized
makes me wish I had pdf manuals formatted for mobile for all my free-standing synths and gear.
If it’s hardware, it’s a better then even chance that my desktop or laptop are not right in front of me or I don’t want to touch them. I’m looking at the manual on my phone, straining to comfortably page through a document formatted for letter size.

It should be:
website - properly formatted for web, with internal links
mobile - either another formatting or often the web formatting can be easily used for mobile
pdf - desktop
pdf - mobile
none of these are difficult to do and there is very little excuse these days for not having multiple formats available.
I bought an older model eink tablet specifically for manual reading and notation. Overkill? Perhaps, but comfort and ergonomics are appreciated.
Totally agree, as a workaround it’s worth trying out the Adobe Acrobat app which has “liquid mode” (raindrop icon) which reformats the PDF for your screen. It doesn’t work perfectly all the time but it’s usually readable at least
