Step Programming Chords outside of octave range

Is there a way to program chords with notes that are outside of the octave range (the twelve notes/buttons) on the A4? For instance, if I wanted to step program a “B” chord, is there a way to press the keys for the beginning portion of the chord, change octaves, and press the remaining keys to the chord?

Exactly as you say, hold down the key in the octave you choose, change octave, hold down key, etc etc.

Whilst holding all keys, in record mode, hit the trig you want them all on.

I’m pretty sure that doesn’t work though, or at least when I tried. When I held two notes, and then switched octaves to press a third, only the single third note got programmed onto the step. I’ll give it another shot.

A work around I figured out, for anyone else who might be in my situation, is to just play the type of chord you want in any key within the octave range. Then, transpose the root note of the chord using parameter locks.

It works for me. It just takes a bit of finger acrobatics to hold down the trig, two notes and press the octave change button before adding the 3rd note.

Ok, that’s good to know. I must’ve obviously been doing something wrong. I’ll try again tonight after work.

So, here 5 years later - did it work? And what is the exact way of doing it. Holding trig first, or pressing trig last?
