Step sequecning with multi-map problem

Hi there,
Got some internal drums set up in multi-map. When I record a sequence in live mode, I get all the sounds-- However, if I try step recording, even if I play the 5th note in the map pool, all I hear is the 1st note. Also- the 1st note (c4) lights up no matter what other note I play in the map pool. What am I missing? Thanks- JM

update: Just found this quote in another topic from Elektron pro Cuckoo
"Live recording should work. But step grid programming won’t work for some reason with multimap. Only by manually selecting sounds from the pool with the dial. I have this feeling there’s a setting for this though, whether multimap gets recorded or not. I don’t have the keys here so I can’t check at the moment. "

…so even he doesn’t know, but does admit there might be a setting for this. Anyone know it?

did you ever figure this out?

I’m fairly sure the Digitone works this way.

still doesn’t work unfortunately.
the newer step recording mode won’t work with multi map either.
