Here’s a piece that is entirely built around displacement of a simple rhythm.
I love displacement and general modulation of tempo. I’ve never thought of thinking of it in phrases though. So I tried a quick excercise on the OP-Z.
Three tracks sequencing perfourmer. Track one has no shift, track 2 shift 1 step each cycle and track three shifts 1 step every second cycle.
The mix is really harsh, but this was more of an excercise.

maybe just my ears adjusting but somehow starts to sound a bit more musical around 58 seconds in.
