Digitone - What is the fastest way to store a sound to the sound pool (not the + drive)
Hi all, I am reading the manual but I’m still hazy on this.
Surely there is a quick and dirty, fast shortcut to storing a new sound creation to the current sound pool (so its immediately available for sound-locks) that does not involve the “sound manager” in global?
COPY TO… Copies the selected Sounds to one of the following:
SOUND POOL copies the selected Sounds to the rst free slots of the Sound pool.
+DRIVE copies the selected Sounds to the rst free slots of the +Drive Sound library.
+BANK (A–H) copies the selected Sounds to the rst free slots of a speci c bank inside the +Drive.
…To be clear what I’m looking to do is start with ZERO sounds in my Soundpool. Then hit “A” and start tweeking away at the default sine wave. Once I like what I’ve done , I wish to instantly save it to the first available slot in the SoundPool. Then move on to B,C, D and do the same. Now I should have 4 sounds in my SoundPool. Then make a totally different sound in A and again store that to the next available spot in the SoundPool…Now I’d like to be able to “sound lock” any of my new sound creations via GridMode instantly.
It would be great if you could just hold an active trig and turn the sound browser to save it in the pool, kind of the opposite to loading on an empty trig.
I’m finding the the most use of the the sound pool is to load an empty slot on to a trig and tweak away knowing that this particular trig will have all settings locked and be unaffected by control all.
actually if you could hold the trig button and “press” the sound browser knob, to place the sound into the pools next available slot would do the trick!
I went over the manual + looked around in youtube and couldn’t find how can I upload sounds to the Track Sound (Not Sound Browser), so I can trig different sounds within a track.
Just to make myself clear, when I press a trig and turn the data knob, the above screen comes up to allow me change that trig to a different sound. How do I upload sounds to this list?
I’ll explain this fairly broadly, as I’m not sure how much you know… so sorry if I’m covering things you know already!
“Track Sound” refers to the default sound that is loaded/created on the current track. The list underneath is for the Sound Pool for the active project.
To save sounds to the sound pool, go into Settings (gear button) -> Sounds -> Sound Manager. You’ll either be presented with the sound pool (in your case, looks like it’s empty), or the +Drive, which should contain some presets, or your own sounds. If you’re viewing an empty sound pool, press the left arrow and a side menu will show, allowing you to switch to the +Drive.
If you’re viewing the +Drive, you can select any sounds you’d like to copy over to the sound pool by pressing YES with the cursor over them. Once you’ve selected the sounds, press the right arrow, which will bring up a side menu; select “Copy to…” and from there you can select Sound Pool. The selected sounds will now appear in the menu below “Track Sound” when you hold a trig and turn the Level/Data encoder.
