Sync to ableton?

hi,

how do i get the sequencer of the digitone to sync to ableton?

I’m connected over USB to the mac. Midi in is occupied by a midi keyboard

I use ableton as the master, which sends clock to the DN.

So when I hit play in ableton, it sends transport messages to the DN and the sequencer starts in sync with ableton and whatever bpm it is set at.

Or, are you asking a out sending midi out from the DN to control ableton?

ah thanks for your reply, thats what I’m trying to do - press play in live, and the digitone will play/start in sync.

I’ve been playing with the midi prefs in live but can’t seem to get the 2 to match up.

got it working for other gear like this, am i missing something?

Your DT must be in MIDI SEQ slave in what you want to achieve :wink:
And not Master

On the DN go to Settings > MIDI config > Sync and check the “Clock Receive” Box.

Then in Port Config in the previous menu check that “Input from” is set to USB.

If that doesnt do it then im guessing its a routing on Ableton you need to check.

Set digitone port config to midi & usb so you can still use the midi controller

Ive got the little orange manual, is there another manual too? I can’t seem to see anything about this stuff in the orange book.

There is a complete manual on the elektron site, on the support page choose digitone from the drop down menu and all digitone related stuff is there firmware, manual, etc.
